Questions

Questions, answered plainly

What is permanent makeup, and what is it not?

Pigment placed in the skin to shape and color brows or lips, drawn with you first. It is not makeup you can wipe off, and it is not a medical service.

How long does a first visit take?

About three hours from the consultation to your aftercare. Lip liner and refreshes are shorter.

Does it hurt?

People feel it differently. Tell us at your consultation how you would like to be kept comfortable, and tell us at any point if you want us to pause or stop.

Do I need a patch test?

If you have reacted to makeup, dye or adhesive before, we recommend one before your visit. It helps, but it cannot predict every reaction. We share the ingredient list of any pigment on request.

What if I react afterward?

If you notice burning, swelling, redness or blurred vision, tell us and call your doctor or go to urgent care. Reactions can happen with any service.

Who should wait?

If you are pregnant or nursing, under 18, healing from a procedure near the area, or have a skin condition or a cold sore there, tell us before you book. We may ask you to wait or to check with your doctor.

Can I bring a guest or a child?

Please come on your own. Guests wait outside during the procedure, and children cannot come into the studio.

What happens at the follow-up visit?

Four to eight weeks after the first visit we look at how the color has settled and adjust the shape or depth where it needs it.

How does a color refresh work?

Color fades over time, and many clients book a refresh. We look at what is left, redraw the shape if you want, and add color where it has softened.

How do deposits work?

A deposit holds your visit and goes toward your service. It is taken when you book, and the booking page shows the amount before you pay. See the policies for what happens if you cancel or are late.
